Don't-miss club nights this week

Midnight Disco with Dimitri from Paris @ Canal Mills, 20 Jan

Two rooms of fun at Canal Mills this Friday: while Dimitri from Paris headlines the main room, the Good Life lot will be bringing Disco Dodgeball to Room 2. What's Disco Dodgeball, you might ask? Well, it's a host of Leeds DJs going head to head, spinning favourites from start to finish 'with an added twist'. Sounds pleasing. From 11pm, £15

ALTER with Blind Observatory, Volte-Face, Animist @ Wire, 21 Jan

Two Berghain regulars make for double the goodness at Wire this weekend, with Berlin’s enigmatic Blind Observatory ("trippy, hypnotic and captivating") making only his second appearance in the UK, joined by Daniel Avery collaborator and BleeD label head Volte-Face. Say bye bye to yer January blues. From 11pm, £10

The Dawn of a New Dusk @ 212 Cafe & Bar, 22 Jan

If you're feeling the January pinch, you could do worse than head along to the free launch of Dusk Till Disco's 2017 lineup. Rather than simply shout about it online they've decided to hold an event showcasing what's coming up over the next few months. They've got artists and new resident DJs on the decks from 2pm, spinning all-vinyl disco, minimal, house and techno. A decent way to spend your Sunday. From 2pm, free

Back to Basics: One Records @ Church, 28 Jan

For the first Back to Basics of 2017, they've invited old pals One Records to the hallowed arches of Church for a label showcase. Adam Shelton plays alongside friend and label co-owner Subb-an, plus France's John Dimas and, of course, Basics residents – including Tristan da Cunha making his main-room debut. From 10pm, £12

Acetate #22: Craig Richards & Pearson Sound @ Wire, 3 Feb

Entering their seventh year, Acetate have brought some of the biggest names in contemporary techno and electronica to Leeds: Floating Points, Oneman, Blawan... Not least among them is Pearson Sound; almost a club regular, but always a pleasure to revisit. He's flanked tonight by Craig Richards, long-term Fabric artist-in-residence. From 11pm, £8
