Don't-miss parties this week:

Fri 12 Aug

Butter Side Up summer party
Wire, 11pm, £5

Those formidably talented and knowledgeable heads at Butter Side Up are throwing a big summer bash at Wire this weekend, which is likely to have more sunshiney vibes than the sky has managed to bring us this year. Bloody hell it's crap out there. We're promised a very special guest but the residents alone are worth the jaunt, always bringing their strongest game to the booth.

Clandestino & Twisted Geisha present Paramida
Distrikt, 8pm, free

You might know Paramida from her famous Paradisco parties where she's played host to the likes of Daniele Baldelli and DJ Sprinkles – or her Love On The Rocks label (or before that, from her time behind the counter at Berlin's OYE-Records store). No reason not to attend this free party at Distrikt, welcoming her to Leeds for the first time.

Sat 13 Aug

Sub:terranea presents Buckley
Wire, 11pm, £7

Sub:terranea regular Buckley, known in Leeds for his long stint as a Back to Basics resident, returns for his annual party at Wire ably supported by Rory Flynn, Dan Jackson and Phil Warner.

The Garden Party part 3
with Dusky, Alan Fitzpatrick, Denis Sulta & more
The Faversham, 28 Aug, 12pm (afterparty at Wire, 10pm), £20-£30

Leeds' own Garden Party festival returns to its original stomping ground at The Faversham for one last blowout of the summer. House duo Dusky headline, with Drumcode records' Alan Fitzpatrick and Glasgow's Denis Sulta also on the line-up. The Fav winds down at 11pm, but the party moves to Wire (10pm-4am).
