The Skinny Fringe Radio Hour #2
In the second of our special Fringe radio shows, kindly accommodated by Edinburgh's Fresh Air station, we welcome guests from the worlds of comedy, literature, theatre and music into the studio for a cosy chat with host Annabel Cooper. We've also got a soundtrack courtesy of Music ed Dave, featuring a few tracks by artists appearing in Edinburgh this month and acts we'll be interviewing in forthcoming issues of the magazine. You can tune in live here, or catch the recording on theskinny.co.uk and freshair.org.uk after broadcast.
First up we've got comedians Felicity Ward and Dana Alexander, both appearing at the Underbelly in Bristo Square this year. They'll be sharing their Fringe stories and providing a wee taster of their shows to entice you along in the final days of this year's festivals.
Next is Cargo Publishing's Mark Buckland. He'll be priming you for Cargo v McSweeney's, a special event at Unbound in the Book Festival tonight (Mon 20 Aug) bringing together two lean mean machines of modern publishing for a head to head battle celebrating the launch of their collaborative book Elsewhere. What's Elsewhere you may ask? Tune in from 6pm and Mark will enlighten you. Or you could head along to the event from 9pm. It's free, you know, and will feature some of the luminaries involved in the short story collection.
Alongside Mark will be playwright and performer Rob Drummond, whose show Bullet Catch has had a sell-out run in the Traverse this month. He's also won shiny awards, and failed to persuade his mother to shoot him in the face. He'll be telling us what that's like from around about 6.30pm.
Update (6 September 2012): You can now listen to the show in podcast form here.
