Pulling 10p out from behind Lothian Buses' ear
Published 18 April 2008
Everyone in Edinburgh is rightfully annoyed about the recent increase of Lothian bus fares to £1.10. Quite rightly. We all know inflation happens, but a bit of common sense would surely have been in order: maybe waiting on £1 a bit longer, then going to £1.20, or something.
But The Skinny has it on good authority that there is currently a viable loophole (whether Lothian are in on this or not we don't know) whereby you can buy a ticket from one of the bus stop machines... still for a pound! Holy smoking ragehorn - £1! ONE POUND only for a sodding BUS JOURNEY. Not quite a bargain, but a sensible price...
