In case you’re not familiar yet with Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl, here’s a quick summary of the lyrics: “I kissed a girl and it was nice, but don’t worry, I have a boyfriend, so it’s not like there’s a major lifestyle change on the cards here, and I hope he won’t mind but of course he won’t because it’s not like kissing girls really counts as cheating. Also, girls are really soft and squishy and aren’t we just adorable.”

A plus point? Well, um, I guess any chart-topping acknowledgement of non-heterosexuality is arguably a step forward. A minus point? The well-worn territory of the bi-curious “experiment”, frequently cited as justification for biphobia within the gay community. And the usual safety net stuff, as above. Girls kissing girls isn’t exactly a radical act in this day and age, in this culture - whether they’re straight, queer, or whatever. A hit single about boys kissing boys, on the other hand – well, we’re not quite there yet, are we? It’ll be a lot more ground-breaking the day that Justin Timberlake covers Pansy Division’s He Whipped My Ass In Tennis (Then I Fucked His Ass In Bed).

Anyway, after rolling my eyes at I Kissed A Girl, I decided to see if anyone had come up with a smart parody, and that’s when I discovered Good Asian Drivers. Check this out – it makes everything better.
