Gisele Bundchen has asked ex-boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio's mother to be her baby's godmother.

The Brazilian supermodel dated Leonardo for four years before she met her husband Tom Brady, with who she is expecting her first child next month. She is still close to the actor's mother Irmelin DiCaprio, and wants her to be an active part of the baby girl's life.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "They get along so well, Gisele really wants Irmelin to be around her daughter."

However, Tom is said to be unimpressed by the choice as he was keen to ask one of his three sisters to take on the role. "Tom usually lets Gisele have her way, but he might take a stand on this issue. Family is very important to him," said the source.

Gisele, 29, and New England Patriots quarterback Tom, 32, wed in Los Angeles in February in front of their parents and Tom's then 18-month-old son John, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. In April, they held a second ceremony in Costa Rica to which they invited more friends and family.
