A Christmas Carol – with Extra Sauce

It’s the time of year where self indulgence and extravagance go out the window in favour of gift-finding and thinking of others. And in the opposite spirit, the production team behind December’s High Tease event urge us to take some time out of gift giving to “see a star studded cast play an uproarious send up of A Christmas Carol”

High Tease’s A Christmas Carol Cabaret ~ Dickens With A Saucy All-Over Twist combined with the Vegas nightclub and showgirls promises “a special theatrical twist”; with a spectacular cast of over 50 members including the incomparable Des O’Connor as Ebenezer Scrooge himself and Miss Alternative World: Fancy Chance. Providing an alternative backdrop to the evening, and bringing to life the cheeky lyrics and musical mastery of O’Connor are the Edinburgh Gay Men’s Chorus.

Speaking to Brian Taylor from the EGMC, he foretells of some “Christmas camp with a medley of carols. We tend not to do Christmas songs at our winter concert, so this is something a bit different for us. It's also the first time we've been involved in a High Tease event.”

The 40-strong group have cut their numbers for the evening’s performance, yet their appearance within the show hints at a lavish performance where attention to detail is key.
