Ashley Jensen gives birth

Ashley Jensen has given birth to a boy.

The Scottish actress and her husband Terence Beesley welcomed their first child, Francis Jonathan, into the world on October 20.

Both mother and baby are healthy and “resting” at home.

Ashley and Terence chose not to find out the sex of the baby before the birth.

“We thought there are so few surprises left in the world,” the 40-year-old star explained. “We wanted to be surprised, so we don't have the room painted pink or blue.”

Ashley and Terence eloped in January 2007 after seven years together. They announced the pregnancy in July.

The actress is expected to return to work on her TV show Accidentally on Purpose in the next two weeks.
