New bra to get rid of cleavage wrinkles

A new bra is promising to get rid of cleavage wrinkles.

La Decollette is worn while women sleep and sits between the breasts. Dutch designer Rachel de Boer claims the layer of cushioning it provides stops boobs squeezing together while the wearer is on her side, and so prevents wrinkles.

“There are plenty of sexy bras out there and this is not a sexy bra, but it can help you get your sexy cleavage back,” she said.

“The vertical wrinkles appear because the breasts are pressed against each other while sleeping. The older you get, the longer it takes before they disappear again.”

Rachel began selling the £45 underwear at her home last year. It is now available in over 100 shops in the Netherlands, and from Rachel’s website www.decollette.eu.

The bra is made of lycra and is adjustable, meaning it fits between a 30ins and 42ins bust. It comes in black or white, and the middle part is filled with a synthetic fibre to ensure it is properly padded.

Rachel came up with the idea after a friend suggested she sleep with a pillow between her breasts to try to improve her crepey cleavage. She said: “It wasn't practical but I did notice a difference. La Decollette works in exactly the same way.”

  • Hmm, yes you can wear this unusual bra to smooth out wrinkles in your chest area but you can’t wear it regularly because it gets very uncomfortable. So any effect you get will be shortlived.

There are several reason for the discomfort:

    - most importantly the strap that runs across the shoulder blade is very much at the side of the body (rather then the middle of the back) and when I lie on my side I am lying directly on the strap and in particular on the hard plastic bits that connect the shoulder strap to the back strap. In the morning I am left with a strong indentation of the round piece of plastic and it hurts. I would suggest moving the strap towards the middle because the main reason for the chest wrinkles in sleeping on your side!

Women who need this type of bra will sleep on their side - women who don't need it sleep on their back or front!

    - I feel the quality of the straps all the way round should be much better. The bra costs about £ 45 and at this price a normal bra would have much more comfortable straps, using better, softer material. I would suggest you have another look at high quality bras eg Triumpf or swim wear from high quality suppliers.

As it is I don't feel able to recommend this product. Fingers crossed they come out with an improved version soon!
