Oasis – I’m Outta Time

A world away from their Supersonic days, Oasis’ latest single is a paint-by-numbers ballad penned by Liam Gallagher. It’s hard to imagine the more vivacious of the brothers being as melancholy and reflective as the lyrics and melody of this song suggest, nevertheless this song displays the same maturity as their ageing fans. The trademark pseudo-Beatles sound and singalong chorus is present, which will lend this song both continuous airtime and longevity. But this encapsulates what Oasis have become – one hates to say it but the Manc lads are becoming the Status Quo of our generation: safe tunes and a customary winter tour to warm your cockles to.
