We See Lights play The Mill, Edinburgh on 11 Dec
Edinburgh’s septet We See Lights are in good company these days, whether it’s playing the numbers game with the equally expansive Broken Records, or the thick-Scottish heartbreak paeans of Frightened Rabbit, all shot through with the twee boy-girl vocals of Belle and Sebastian. However, nothing to do with the actual production, but this first taster from their forthcoming debut album feels a little unfinished as a song. What initially seems to be a perfectly good bridge in fact turns out to be a rather underwhelming chorus, leaving Parachute feeling like something of a missed opportunity. The jury’s out for now.
