Those Dancing Days - Run Run

Starting in with a keyboard riff reminiscent of a simpler Booker T. and the M.G.'s and a surf rock-esque guitar line, Run Run by Those Dancing Days throws the listener for a loop with the introduction of Linnea Jönsson's sultry yet restrained vocals. B-side Home Sweet Home pokes a similar vein, with similar results: These five Swedish lassies have the gift of crafting some fine retro pop tunes, with touches of classic girl group backing vocals and plenty of soul. Assuming these hits keep coming, Those Dancing Days have an auspicious musical future, as well as the promise of bringing some good times to the European festival circuit this summer. [Jason Morton]
