Wed 27 Apr: Performance at GSA's Reid Gallery

Tomorrow in the Reid Gallery at Glasgow School of Art, Foote and Mouth present There's a Special Place in Shell... For this 15 minute performance, the two artists will consider the banshee and the siren. Via these archetypes, they look towards females in folklore, and "the degradation of women through patriarchal mythologies." Starting promptly at 7pm, the following quarter of an hour will include "animation, text, song, costume and comedy." GSA Reid Gallery's been a bit packed out for performances lately, so it's now operating on a free ticketing system.

Thu 28 Apr: New work at Six Foot Gallery

Community-based artist Geraldine Russell presents work made in Govanhill's Milk Cafe over recent months in Six Foot Gallery from 6pm. Russell arranges objects from the Govanhill community, where she lives and works. Operating art and craft workshops in this area, she cites this as the formative experience for this exhibition – entitled Gathered – which continues until 12 May.

Fri 29 Apr: Mhor Farr & Pissed Modernism

Good Press hosts Mhor Farr, "a remote project space that invites creative individuals to particpate in an exchange of ideas and making in the North West of Scotland," from 6-9pm. For Friday, sound and images have been contributed by members, and GP plans "an evening of performance, conversation, sound and visuals" featuring 11 artists.

Meanwhile in Edinburgh, there's Pissed Modernism at The Number Shop from 7pm. It's a week-long exhibition with two eyes on the upcoming Scottish election. Along with its promising name, craft beer is also a main theme, and a selection of artists have contributed designs for custom brews, on sale on the night for £10 each.

Sat 30 Apr: Kinning Park Complex & Glasgow Zine Fest parties

There's a garden party at studio complex and community project Kinning Park Complex this weekend. Black Star will be steel drumming, and they promise arts and crafts for all the family and food from The Vegan People's Kitchen.

Glasgow Zine Fest takes place this weekend, and there's a huge amount to see, get involved in and buy. The opening party is from 10pm on Saturday at CCA in the upstairs bar. For all zine-purchasing needs, head to The Old Hairdressers from 12-6pm on Sunday. Alongside the sale, zine-loving artists will also show their work.

Sun 1 May: 1 Royal Terrace, Lux at GFT

1 Royal Terrace continues this year's programme with work from Glasgow-based artist Philippe Murphy. For this show, he has designed a set which will host different performances and will be subject to different modulations through its run until 15 May. This Sunday, the preview takes place from 5-8pm.

Also on Sunday, Lux Scotland host a screening event in Glasgow Film Theatre. They present teacher, designer, photographer and film director Stephen Dwoskin's Pain Is... which "examines the role of paint within society", making "a seamless blend of film culture and social activism." Tickets are the usual GFT prices, and available here.

Mon 2 May: Babaloose at Glue Factory

Babaloose returns to the Glue Factory this Monday. It's been an ongoing project involving the convergence of writing, performance and visual art. As always, "everyone is invited to read something, no sign-up sheets, just turn up with something to read, to sing, communicate and we'll listen, and applaud and have merriment." It's BYOB, and also bring your own performance art. It gets rowdy, sometimes sad, but with lots of laughing; from 6.30 to 11pm.
