Tue 21 Jun: SWG3, Transmission deadline

Late tonight in SWG3, there is an event to go with the current exhibition, Difficult Mothers by Sarah Rose. Having had a few dozen glass balls filled with different coloured inks fabricated, there is a screening of artist filmmaker John Smith's 1988-91 work Slow Glass.

Taking its monologue that relates glass production "as a metaphor for the constancy of change and processes of transformation in property, industry and labour", Rose and collaborator Rebecca Wilcox will provide a new narration for the work under the title Living With The Promises of Appearances. The event kicks off at 9.45pm; Rose and Wilcox's performance will be simultaneously broadcast on the MAP website.

Today is also the deadline for dropping off work to the Transmission Members' Show, which begins on Saturday. Otherwise, members are invited to install their own work until Friday. As well as the gallery show, there is also a bookable space available between next Tuesday 28 June and Saturday 23 July; email info@transmissiongallery for more details.

Wed 22 Jun: Generator's 20th birthday

Generator celebrates its 20th birthday on Wednesday, as well as holding its Annual General Meeting. Starting the evening from 6pm, they'll begin with a summary of the exhibition opportunities they've made available in the last 12 months, as well as holding some votes on a few decisions. Then there's cake and fizz.  All members are encouraged to RSVP or send apologies to mail@generatorprojects.co.uk.

Thu 23 June: LeithLate, GSA MLitt, EIFF & DCA

LeithLate begins this Thursday from 6-10pm, with a huge night event. There'll be a massive artcrawl of the 20+ spaces hosting more than 50 artists, followed by the legendary afterparty at none other than the Hibernian Supporters' Club. See our interview with the Director Morvern Cunningham and commissioned artist/moneymaker Rabiya Choudhry here. There's also the full programme for planning out your Leith weekend.

This Thursday from 6.30pm, the MLitt students from GSA add their own exhibition to the main degree show currently on show on the third and fourth floors of the Tontine. 15 of the postgraduate students will exhibit work in advance of their own final show in September. The MLitt show can be found on the Tontine's second floor, accessible from 37 High Street, G1 5ES. The show continues until 30 June, open 1-5pm each day.

LUX Scotland and EIFF Black Box curator Kim Knowles present Lizzie Borden's Regrouping (pictured) at Filmhouse. It's "a powerful and rarely seen classic of feminist filmmaking", and previewed in Edinburgh 40 years ago. It's a documentary about a women's group, who closed ranks after seeing the first edit dissatisfied with Borden's criticisms that they weren't "fully grappling with issues of sexuality and politics." This led to Borden incorporating other similar groups, and the project becoming much larger for this final edit. Regrouping screens at 6.10pm on Thursday and 8.30pm on Friday; tickets are available via edfilmfest.org.uk

(((echo))) takes place at DCA from 7pm. It's free and drop-in, with a number of presentations on the current exhibition Copying Errors by Duncan Marquiss, with contributions from local artists and writers. See our own interview with Marquiss about the application of biology to the evolution of pop music here.

Fri 24 June: The Poetry Club

Paraphernalia returns to The Poetry Club in Glasgow for its 15th edition this Friday. There will be the usual stellar lineup of spoken word, performance, artist's moving image, live music and DJs. Entry is £1, doors at 10pm.

Sat 25 June: Transmission, House for an Art Lover, Degree Shows

House for an Art Lover from 2-4pm opens up current resident and former "New Glasgow Boy" painter Adrian Wisznieski. He'll be available for questioning, or visitors can just enjoy some refreshments and the work on display.

A Camel is a Horse, the Transmission Members' Show, opens this Saturday from 7pm. Happening twice or so a year, it's usually a packed show of most of the artists working in Glasgow right now.

The degree shows at Glasgow School of Art and Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen come to a close this weekend; read our reviews of the work on show in Glasgow and Aberdeen and check out the work of the newest of Scotland's contemporary artists.

Sunday 26 June: Leithlate Closing Party

It's the official last chance to see LeithLate's bespoke exhibitions, ending this Sunday. There will also be the LeithLate artmarket operating from the Out of the Blue Drill Hall, "a cross between a cabinet of artistic curiosities and an art show." The closing party later on takes place at Pilrig Chruch from 7pm with live music and spoken word, all profits going to Amnesty International.
