Cornerhouse reveals details of The Storming finale

Feature by News Team | 17 Mar 2015

The full details of The Storming, the final event to take place at Manchester’s Cornerhouse arts venue, have been confirmed ahead of the iconic building’s closure next month.

Humberto Vélez’s performance piece is in two parts, opening with a daytime mass performance featuring community groups, bands and performers parading through the streets outside the venue, ahead of a communal 'storming' of Cornerhouse to mark its closure.

The second half of the event takes the form of a "musical extravaganza" featuring live music, a host of DJs curated by Greg Thorpe, and a range of artists, dancers and performers – a full list can be found below.

HOME, the successor to Cornerhouse formed in its merger with the Library Theatre Company, opens its doors at Number 1 First St in May with an extensive programme of theatre, visual art, film and music – read our full preview here.

The Storming takes place on 4 Apr; tickets are sold out.

Confirmed acts for The Storming:
Chew Disco, The Whim Wham Club, Violent Femmes, Pumping Iron, Black Angel, Kath McDermott, Philippa Jarman, Mike Joyce, Clique, Wasp Nest, Chris Paul Daniels, Will Tramp, Graham Massey
