Creative Edinburgh have opened nominations for their third annual awards, which aim to honour some of the key members of the capital’s creative scene.

There are eight awards up for grabs, with nominations open to Edinburgh-based creatives regardless of whether or not they are CE members.

The awards include categories for best student contribution to Edinburgh’s creative scene and best commercial contribution, as well as awards for outstanding new start-up, the best collaboration between a group of organisations or individuals and the Anchorman Award for “an outstanding contribution from a professional individual.”

The Creativity Award honours a one-off creative venture, while the Social Award will be given for work which makes a contribution to a particular group within the city. The City Award is for city-specific work or for “an outstanding creative contribution or activity that has promoted Edinburgh nationally or indeed, internationally.”

The winners will be announced at Creative Edinburgh’s awards ceremony and 3rd birthday party at Assembly Roxy on 13 Nov at 7pm, with music curated by Edinburgh DIY record label Song, By Toad.

Nominations for the 2014 Creative Edinburgh awards are open until 3 Nov – nominations can be made on the CE website.

Tickets for the Creative Edinburgh awards on 13 Nov are £10, or £6 for paid members. Profits from ticket sales will be donated to the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
